International Service
International Service, the fourth Avenue of Service, comprises those activities that members do to advance international understanding, goodwill, and peace by fostering acquaintance with people of other countries. Through reading, correspondence and cooperation in club activities and projects, our goal is to familiarize club members with the cultures, customs, accomplishments, aspirations, and problems of people in other lands and seek ways to help them..
We have participated in Boxes to Afghanistan and Shoe Boxes to Haiti. We have also participated as an International Sponsor for Global Grants to:
- Purchase medical equipment for cataract surgeries in India
- Purchase cows to establish women farmers in India
- Develop water sources and 150 family sanitation facilities for Nalerigu, Ghana,
- Drill wells in the Democratic Republic of Congo-Miriam’s Table
The Rotary Foundation Committee supports this avenue of service by developing and implementing plans to support The Rotary Foundation through both financial and program participation.
